Usually answered within a couple of days. QuantSmart is a small independent project, not a support desk.
What we can help with
Access to the screener. Accounts are created manually. Tell us who you are and what you intend to use it for.
Something that looks wrong. Genuinely welcome. Several of the corrections listed on the About page came from a result that did not look right. If a number seems impossible, it may well be — please send the settings that produced it.
Questions about the method. How costs are modelled, how tax is applied, why a result changed, what a particular setting does.
Licensing the calculation engine. If you are a SEBI-registered adviser or analyst and want the cost and tax modelling behind your own work, write and say so.
What we cannot help with
What to buy. We will not answer questions about whether to buy, sell or hold any security, and we will not comment on a particular company. QuantSmart is not registered with SEBI and does not give investment advice. This is not reticence; it is the line we operate on.
Portfolio reviews. Same reason.
Tax filings. The platform models capital gains tax to illustrate its effect on a strategy. It is not tax advice and it is not a substitute for a chartered accountant.
Reporting something wrong
If a result looks incorrect, these four things let us reproduce it quickly: the universe and date range, the method and formula, the position count and weights, and the turnover floor. A screenshot of the settings panel below any result contains all of them.
A note on what arrives in the inbox. A fair number of messages ask, in one form or another, which stocks to buy. We understand why, and we will always reply — but the answer will be the same one written throughout this site. The tool computes a rule you chose. Deciding what to do about the result is yours, and if you want advice on it, a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser is the person to ask.
